Texas A&M University undertook a complete transformation of the historic 23-acre Corps of Cadets Quad, the largest renovation of the site since its original construction in 1939. KW Landscape Architects provided full landscape architecture services with over 95,000 square feet of pavers, retaining walls, ramps, and stairs that improved accessibility and circulation across the campus core. The design introduced native and adaptive plantings for resilience and character, complemented by custom-grown live oaks planted from 670-gallon containers to establish a mature landscape presence. Site furnishings such as benches, bike racks, trash receptacles, and monument locations were thoughtfully integrated to support both daily cadet life and long-standing campus traditions. The renovated Quad now balances modern functionality with historic character, enhancing the living-learning environment for more than 2,600 cadets while strengthening the symbolic heart of Texas A&M.
