Education
During his time serving our country in the U.S Coast Guard, Luke ended up in Seattle where he discovered a wild fusion of culture and nature. His love of public art and environmental stewardship led him to the University of Washington’s Bachelor of Landscape Architecture program and its framework of Urban Ecological Design and planning. He lives for functional and fun public spaces because that’s where all walks of life merge and mingle regardless of age, status, or creed. His work ranges from urban districts, mixed-use housing, rooftop gardens, education, cultural centers, planned communities, healthcare, retail, and worship. With a wealth of knowledge in construction administration, irrigation, and project management, Luke is a resourceful mentor who assists our range of studios and offices with a variety of project needs. Outside of work, you can find Luke making homemade pizza with his 4 kids, running along the Comal River, and wandering thorough art museums, parks, and libraries.
I think being separated from the land, seeing the shrinking glaciers, and struggling polar bears strengthened my connection to the land and probably led me into Landscape Architecture. Designing the dramatic stage and the forgotten in-between spaces where life happens is a privilege and an honor.”
