POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Marketing Manager is a strategic leader responsible for shaping how KW is positioned in the marketplace and how the firm communicates its expertise, culture, and value. This role translates firm priorities, market intelligence, and business development goals into focused marketing strategies and initiatives that strengthen KW’s brand, elevate its market presence, and support continued growth.
Working closely with firm leadership, business development, and project teams across KW’s offices and markets, the Senior Marketing Manager leads firmwide marketing efforts spanning market research and strategy, proposals and pursuits, brand and communications, thought leadership, awards, digital marketing, and industry visibility. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of the AEC industry and professional services marketing, along with the ability to identify opportunities, develop compelling stories, and leverage landscape architecture thought leadership for marketing strategies that differentiate KW and strengthen client relationships.

The role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring a collaborative leader who can set direction, provide insight and recommendations, and execute high-quality marketing initiatives across the firm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Strategy and Insight
- Lead research into market trends, client priorities, competitors, and emerging opportunities to identify where KW can strengthen its position and focus its marketing efforts.
- Translate firm priorities and market insights into focused marketing plans and initiatives.
- Bring forward ideas and recommendations that sharpen KW’s positioning and market presence.
- Evaluate marketing opportunities, sponsorships, and industry involvement based on firm priorities and business value.
- Establish measurable goals for marketing initiatives, track performance, and use results to inform future strategy and investment.
- Develop and oversee the firmwide marketing budget, allocating resources based on strategic priorities, business development goals, and anticipated return on investment.
Business Development and Client Relationships
- Partner with firm leadership and business development to support client development and target market priorities.
- Build and maintain relationships across the AEC community and represent KW at industry events and conferences.
- Support capture planning and pursuit strategy for priority clients and opportunities.
Project Pursuits and Proposals
- Lead the firm’s RFQ, RFP, and proposal process from opportunity assessment through submission and interview preparation.
- Maintain current proposal resources, project information, staff qualifications, and marketing collateral to support efficient and competitive pursuits.
- Develop compelling proposal content that clearly communicates KW’s experience, approach, and value.
- Track pursuit outcomes and use results to strengthen future pursuit strategy.
Brand and Communications
- Lead the KW brand across marketing materials, external communications, and digital platforms (website and social media channels).
- Lead firmwide storytelling through project announcements, award submissions, thought leadership, and industry visibility.
- Maintain a consistent, high-quality brand presence across all external marketing and communications.
- Lead internal and external marketing communications, including newsletters, digital content, campaigns, and other firmwide communications.
Business Development and Client Relationships
- Serve as the firm’s go to marketing resource, proactively bringing ideas, solutions, and recommendations to leadership.
- Manage marketing priorities and workflow across offices and disciplines.
- Build strong working relationships with leadership, project teams, and business development to keep marketing aligned with firm goals and priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Seven or more years of relevant marketing experience, preferably within architecture, engineering, construction, landscape architecture, or another professional services environment.
- Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) designation preferred or demonstrated knowledge of professional services marketing practices consistent with the SMPS Domains of Practice.
- Strong knowledge of professional services marketing and the AEC industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading RFQs, RFPs, proposals, qualifications packages, and pursuit strategies.
- Strong understanding of branding, communications, digital marketing, content development, and promotional activities.
- Demonstrated ability to research markets, clients, and opportunities and translate information into actionable recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop clear, compelling content for a variety of audiences.
- Strong presentation, organizational, planning, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
- Ability to think strategically while also managing the detailed execution of marketing initiatives.
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to identify opportunities, recommend solutions, and move work forward independently.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with leadership, technical professionals, business development, consultants, and external partners.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe InDesign and proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Acrobat, Canva, and other relevant marketing platforms.
- Knowledge of AEC industry organizations, markets, trends, and professional services marketing practices.
- Ability and willingness to represent KW professionally at industry events, conferences, networking activities, and other external functions.
- Ability to travel as needed for firm meetings, client activities, conferences, and industry events.

The noise level on the project site work environment can be high but is low in the office environment.
