Multi-Family Superblock

Project Description

Where Landscape Shapes Community

Designed for Howard Hughes, Superblock is a 163-unit luxury multifamily community in The Woodlands that redefines urban residential living through a landscape-first approach. Inspired by the natural character of The Woodlands, the design balances contemporary architecture with immersive outdoor environments that encourage movement, connection, and everyday wellness.

The arrival experience is anchored by a reflective fountain that establishes a memorable civic presence while linking future retail to the residential courtyards. A central paseo, aligned with the lobby and fitness center, draws residents through an atrium-like sequence where lush planting softens the architecture and blurs the transition between indoor and outdoor space. This pedestrian spine serves as the social heart of the community, connecting residents to a series of distinct amenity spaces designed for gathering, recreation, and quiet retreat.

The garden courtyard offers a more intimate experience with a bald cypress grove, outdoor kitchen, fire lounge, and flexible event lawn, creating spaces for both planned activities and casual interaction. Complementing this environment, the resort-style pool courtyard features sun shelves, private lounge areas, outdoor living spaces, and flexible turf, providing a dynamic destination that supports a range of lifestyles.
