Thad is one of the Founding Principals of Kudela & Weinheimer. He oversees all design in both Houston and San Antonio. Thad began the K&W office in October 1991. From its simple roots the office has grown into one of the leading firms in Texas.
He believes that there is “design’” in everything we do. From the smallest detail to the largest challenges, this thoughtfulness is hopefully apparent to everyone we come in contact with.
Thad holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Lawrence Institute of Technology. Having an architecture background has helped him embrace not only the design of planting but also that of outside hardscape, streetscaping and site planning. Registered in Texas, Mississippi and Alabama he has worked on projects throughout the southern region of the United States.
Thad is a respected leader in Landscape Architecture in Houston and is noted for his creative design, graphic communication, and team building capabilities. He has over twenty five years of experience in management districts, retail and lifestyle centers, master planning community design, multi-family, site planning and landscape design in medical facilities, office buildings, churches, public parks, and theme parks. Thad was an associate of The SWA Group, a large national landscape architectural firm, senior planner for Hobbs+Black, Inc., a large architectural firm, and a senior associate of SLA Studio Land.
Outside of the office, he is actively involved in his church and spends most of his free time keeping up with his two kids and their activities. He and his wife enjoy the Alley Theater. Aside from family Thad is also an avid Texans fan and is on the Texans Statistical Crew, along with a few others he calculates game day stats. He was on the crew that calculated the stats for Superbowl XXXVII.
