Located on 3 acres of shaded grounds, the museum is landscaped with plants native to the Texas Hill Country. The challenge was to create a design that is both appealing to the common Fredericksburg visitor while also informing the visitor of the historic lifestyle of the pioneers. After meeting with committee members and receiving historic letters and photographs, we created a master plan which used historic materials and gardening themes, while also adding a few modern design elements to attract and guide visitors through the museum grounds.
