Within the Memorial City Management District, Kudela & Weinheimer was responsible for a master plan that addressed branding and iconic recognition for the area. K&W has worked closely with TxDOT on the expansion and beautification of I-10 in the district. Another challenge was to promote the development of an urban environment that positively affects the District’s appearance, image and value. The design promotes green space within the District, on both public and private property. K&W prepared a master plan that incorporates the District’s goals and objectives: developed urban design guidelines for the District and provided green space and amenities for pedestrians, transit riders and cyclists and upgrade traffic signals, streetlights and street signs, transit shelters, and pedestrian crossings.
