Texas A&M Ag Building and Outdoor Learning

Client: Texas A&M University System
Location: College Station, Texas

The primary goal is to create an outdoor environment, agricultural display and visitor center in the landscape that minimizes any further impact on White Creek. The site development will provide a place to display agriculture in an educational and informative manner. The site development will include the following items: a vegetative swale and constructed wetland, trail system, crop demonstration areas, pedestrian circulation, outdoor classroom and courtyard spaces, specialty gardens and grassland, motor court and an urban street scape along Kimbrough Boulevard. Using vegetation that is native and sustainable that will not require irrigation, except in the urban street scape and courtyard areas. When irrigation is needed the site will be irrigated with rainwater harvested from the building roofs and powered by wind turbines.
